Onima

An alternative protein of excellent nutritional quality, derived from the upcycling of brewery yeast. Onima relies on the collection of yeast directly from breweries to create an ingredient rich in protein, fiber and complete amino acids enabling the food industry (from meat alternatives to sports nutrition or petfood), to reduce their ingredient list and offer healthy, tasty and economically viable alternatives to animal proteins. Asterion led the first round of Edonia in November 2022.

"Onima is everything I love about entrepreneurship. It's both an ambitious and high-impact idea: getting the best out of yeast produced by breweries, an "unloved" co-product that nonetheless has an incredible nutritional profile and is produced in large quantities all over the world! Onima is also a great team, complementary, smart and able to surround itself with people. I'm delighted and honored to be able to work with them!

"In Onima, I've found a great team that wants to revolutionize the alternative protein market with co-products from other industries. It's the perfect alignment of impact with a scalable business model, what more could you ask for."
