Carbone Farmers
Make agricultural carbon credits clear and accessible to all farmers and food industry players. Carbone Farmers enables full traceability from farmer to consumer: the value created helps accelerate the transformation of producers via low-carbon methodologies published by the authorities. Asterion led the first round of Carbone Farmers in October 2022.
The Carbone Farmers team understands that carbon farming is not a market to be positioned in, but an agricultural transition to be supported. Reliable, high-quality, local, sustainable carbon credits that take into account other externalities (water, biodiversity and soil, value sharing, etc.) with a value chain approach (traceability enabling oil, milk, etc. products to be labeled, thus rewarding the farming community). This global approach and the way it was wholeheartedly embraced by the founders convinced me to support them through the Asterion community.

Agriculture is the solution! As a farmer, I've implemented simple, competitive levers that allowed me to start storing carbon. By increasing the level of organic matter, the soil becomes a carbon sink that also improves agronomic performance. The Carbone Farmer approach combines ecological and economic sustainability. What sets them apart is that they offer cooperatives and the agricultural sector simple access to a certified, accessible and traceable methodology for all crops.
